About La Doña

La Doña is a Mexican restaurant in Ocean Beach that is probably the best place to eat in the neighborhood. The place serves legitimately good Mexican food that is ever so slightly upscale and it is great for lunch or dinner after a long day at the beach. The restaurant is in a large open air space with plenty of seating so walking up is always easy to do. Show up in your bathing suit, drink a few margaritas, get the endless chips and salsa, and figure it out from there. The place is lively and fun without being overrun with 20 year old drunk people.

Behind The Counter

La Doña is owned by Social Syndicate – a local San Diego restaurant group responsible for Wonderland Ocean Pub, Grand Ole BBQ, and other spots. Tijuana native chef Gabby Lopez was the inspiring figure and lead chef who teamed up with Social Syndicate to bring La Doña to life.
