Why We Do This
When we set out we wanted to answer the question: What should I do today?
Our goal will always be to answer that question – by offering unique and useful ideas about what to do in San Diego. But we were tired of reading listicles that scrape the surface, offering up dozens of endless activities to keep us numbed and distracted, with no context. A check box approach to exploring the city.
At Finch Post we try to take a more thoughtful, deeper dive into our recommendations, offering context about each activity – the history, its place in the community and the city at large. For this, much of our focus is on the people behind the counter. We want to showcase San Diego through the lens of those who make the city what it is, not as it is seen by outsiders or judged by experts.
The is our goal. We may not always achieve it perfectly.
Our Bio
We are Jeremy and Charles. We are San Diego locals. We are not paid or sponsored by anyone. We are not experts in anything. We recommend things that we do with our friends and families. We have day jobs that have nothing to do with this site – we just love the city and want to get to know San Diego better and share that with everyone.
We try to be as objective and broad as possible in our recommendations, but we will always bring ourselves, with our inherent tastes and biases, with us everywhere we go.
