About Colina Park Golf Course
Colina Park Golf Course is a 18 hole par three course in City Heights that supports a good cause. The whole course is fit inside an area the size of a community park and each hole is quite short. The course is affordable and easily walkable. It is one of the best golf courses in San Diego for kids and beginners.
Colina Park Golf Course is run by the nonprofit Pro Kids – First Tee and all proceeds go to this program (so your greens fees are put to good use). The program is for underserved youth in the City Heights area where instructors weave the teaching of life-skills (interpersonal communication, self-discipline, conflict resolution, recognizing & accepting cultural differences, etc.) and core values (respect, confidence, honesty, integrity, etc.) into basic golf instruction.

Behind The Counter
Pro Kids was founded in 1994 by former AFL/NFL player Ernest H. Wright, Sr. and a group of community leaders who saw the game of golf as a way to help underserved youth develop the character and life skills required to find success in school and in life. Ernie Wright’s guiding philosophy was simple: “golf is the hook, education is the payoff.”
In 1994, in partnership with the City of San Diego, Pro Kids took over golf operations at Colina Park Golf Course and started delivering golf and life skills instruction to youth in the community. They also offer scholarships.
