About The Taco Stand
The Taco Stand is a casual counter service chain that started in San Diego serving Tijuana-style tacos, as well as burritos, quesadillas, and specials. The Taco Stand is always lively and packed with people, good for a casual bite and a beer. They are no longer as local as they used to be – they quickly franchised to many spots all over SoCal and the country at large.
Best Parts
- Decent for a quick taco
- A large salsa bar
- Get the taco to go and walk and eat – like the San Diego version of eating a slice of pizza in New York
Behind The Counter
The Taco Stand was started by Julian Hakim and his uncle Aram Baloyan, who grew up in Tijuana and moved to San Diego.
