Located in Ocean Beach, Wonderland Ocean Pub is where you should go for drinks with an ocean view. The vibe at Wonderland Ocean Pub is bustling, loud, and very sociable. Solo bar patrons are welcome, but just be ready for your neighbor to strike up a friendly convo with you.

The entire bar as massive windows on virtually all sides facing the Pacific Ocean, so not matter where you’re sitting you can catch a glimpse of the beach and watch sunset. They have a large island bar in the center of the floor with plenty of seats. Around the bar are high tops and tables for larger parties. The best seats at Wonderland Ocean Pub are the benches right agains the windows facing the ocean – if you can snag those seats, you’ll want to hang for a while as it’s also one of the best places to watch sunset.

Wonderland Ocean Pub serves all the drinks you would want at a beach bar, including ice cold beers on draft, great, margaritas, cocktails, shots. The Wonderland Ocean Pub food menu is also well-suited for the beach, including fish tacos, cheeseburgers, fried seafood, and other ocean-faring foods.

Behind The Counter

It is called Wonderland Ocean Pub because it is paying homage to Ocean Beach’s own amusement park called Wonderland Park. Built in 1913, this park featured rollercoasters, a zoo, skating rinks, games and everything in between. However, it was quickly overshadowed by other attractions in San Diego including Balboa Park, and it closed in 1915. Sadly, in 1916 devastating floods would hit San Diego and they wiped out the remaining rides and equipment that stood in the park

Part of the Social Syndicate hospitality group, Wonderland Ocean Pub opened in 2013 with the idea of creating a fun, laid-back beach bar with great food and drinks, and decor that pays tribute to the Wonderland Park that once was.
